Schools are really stepping it up these days. I remember that my brother and I had to get our senior portraits taken during our senior year. I’m finding more and more nowadays that schools want the pictures submitted by the end of the students’ junior year!
I love shooting senior portraits because you really get to learn a lot about the subject’s personality in such a short time. This cutie met me in the Marietta Square a few weeks ago. She even brought her old headband she wore in her first ever school picture and put it on for a few pictures. Her mom joined us on the shoot, and you could see how proud she was of her little girl.
The Marietta Square is quickly becoming my favorite location for a photo shoot. The park in the center of the square is great, but there are so many awesome alley ways and hidden areas that are great backdrops. Sometimes it’s necessary to find those hidden spots because of all the events that happen in the park.
That’s exactly what happened this day. Little did we know that morning that there would be the Farmer’s Market, and a fundraiser event. Needless to say, the area was packed! We had to depend on the secret spots for our shoot. And what a great shoot it was! I was delighted to photograph a family I knew from an old job of mine. I hadn’t seen the twins in a year and it was nice to see what sweet young ladies they’re becoming. Their parents decided to join us at the end for a few family pictures. Who can resist a funny face picture, especially with three youngsters?!
After 2 engagement shoots, we knew we would have a blast shooting this wedding. I have never met people who were more happy, goofy, and care-free ALL of the time. It’s wonderful when a wedding has that much joy to share throughout the entire day.
The bride and groom did a lot of work themselves to make sure their space looked picture perfect. One of our favorite touches was their cake topper – a sweet pair of love birds! They even included a photobooth with fun props and encouraged their guests to show their quirky sides, too.
We’re having a special this summer on mini sessions held in the Marietta Square. We’re available Saturday mornings and evenings all summer. The sessions are 30 minutes and only $50! You’ll get all your images not only on a DVD, but also on an online password protected gallery where you can order prints and products. Call or email us to book your session!
With half of the Defy team moving north, I’ve been so grateful to spend as much time with them as possible lately, especially since their little one arrived. When he was just a few weeks old we took some family photos to use for their Christmas card when we took his newborn portraits. They are such a beautiful family and I know that only good awaits them in their future.
It’s that time of year again. Find a tree, bring down the decorations, light it up – it’s Christmas time!! Now that it’s December, I’m okay with seeing Christmas things everywhere. I feel like it started so early this year. I will admit that we took our family photos for our Christmas card in November, but you almost have to in order to have your card done and sent out in time. So before Meredith moves up north, she came over for some Clayton bonding. We even gave the pups a bath right before she came over and gave them some bows. Even though our shoot wasn’t long, we had a lot of fun and now we want to share that joy with you!
For this Thanksgiving, Defy is especially grateful for a little Jellybean. One of our photographers recently had her first baby. This little guy has brought so much joy to so many people and it’s time to share him with you!
Sweet baby Liam is on his way right now to visit all of his family in Colorado for the Thanksgiving holiday. We know they are beside themselves waiting to see his precious face.
Here’s the brand new family of three!
Jellybean the day he was born.
Here he is at one week old.
We met up a few weeks later for another shoot.
