Alaska is a place of beauty. This is actually one of the best times of year to visit, as the bugs aren’t out in force. The landscape is rugged, the glaciers are majestic, and the wildlife…well…wild.

Summer is for picnics and yummy food
We all can picture going on a picnic during the summer. Baskets with sandwiches, fruit, and crackers pour forth. Every now and then, we get the chance to photograph some good eats.
America 250!!
It’s a Semiquincentennial celebration, y’all! Most Americans will be celebrating this 4th of July with fireworks. But here’s something most Americans have never seen – fireworks through 3D glasses! What a beautiful array of color and shine. Happy birthday, America!
April showers bring May flowers!
One of my favorite parts of spring is the emergence of beautiful flowers. Here’s a digital bouquet from across the country. Make sure you get outside this week and take time to stop and smell the roses!
Bit of art, bit of life
Here are more highlights from Samantha’s travels around our country. She likes shooting something that is cool to start with, but then has a hint of life to it. In these, you’ll notice some interesting architecture, pretty vistas, and at least a peek of people.
Views from New Mexico
Samantha has traveled to New Mexico several times during the last several years. Her in-laws lived at the edge of a canyon overlooking the Rio Grande with national forest on the other side. The views are stunning, even in mountainous deserts aren’t your thing.
McKinney Falls winter beauty
Samantha’s travels recently brought her to the Austin, TX area. While there, she was able to explore McKinney Falls State Park. She found beautiful old trees covered in ball moss, an ancient rock shelter, and water features running low during the winter.

Samantha has not been perusing photography as much as Meredith lately. That doesn’t mean she hasn’t been shooting away, though! Her family has been traveling a lot, so stay tuned for pictures from her travels. One thing she likes to capture is cool trees and their close up details. As you can tell, she’s a sucker for some Spanish moss and driftwood. Check out these beauties from south Georgia all the way to Wyoming!
