Photos with stories and smiles

More fun in Elizabeth Park this summer with this new family. This was little guys first photo shoot and he did very well! He was eager to tell us stories with lots of expression. His older sister was excited to show off her pink shoes and a pretty dress she had. They were both fabulous troopers and I see many a great photos in their futures!

Growing family joys

This family received a new baby boy this summer and during our session we got to capture the tender new relationships between everyone. Big brother was so gentle and even eager to hold his new friend. And had fun goofing around with daddy between takes. He earned his ice cream for sure! Grandma was even present for our session and so we were sure to capture her with her precious grandsons. Best wishes to this family as they continue on this new adventure as a growing family!

Milestones each step of the way.

The major milestones in life that we often think of first include births, graduations and marriages. However, there are little ones that happen in between that are milestones too. This little one joined us at her tenth month for a mini session in the park, and she had many skills to show us. From smiling, to sitting up, to crawling; I loved seeing these proud parents enjoy every moment with her. So today I remind you all, don’t forget to celebrate the little steps in life! Each one a milestone of its own.

First new family in Connecticut!

This past winter we had to make the difficult decision to divide the company between Georgia and Connecticut. While there were tears shed for this move, we knew in our hearts new clients would be found for half our company going to New England. Here’s to the best first session in Connecticut! This family was full of life and smiles, and the girls showed us all around this wonderful park! We are so grateful for the continuous work in Georgia and the new found work in Connecticut.

Double Trouble from Days Past

The Marietta Square is quickly becoming my favorite location for a photo shoot. The park in the center of the square is great, but there are so many awesome alley ways and hidden areas that are great backdrops. Sometimes it’s necessary to find those hidden spots because of all the events that happen in the park.

That’s exactly what happened this day. Little did we know that morning that there would be the Farmer’s Market, and a fundraiser event. Needless to say, the area was packed! We had to depend on the secret spots for our shoot. And what a great shoot it was! I was delighted to photograph a family I knew from an old job of mine. I hadn’t seen the twins in a year and it was nice to see what sweet young ladies they’re becoming. Their parents decided to join us at the end for a few family pictures. Who can resist a funny face picture, especially with three youngsters?!

First Christmas as a Family of Three!

With half of the Defy team moving north, I’ve been so grateful to spend as much time with them as possible lately, especially since their little one arrived. When he was just a few weeks old we took some family photos to use for their Christmas card when we took his newborn portraits. They are such a beautiful family and I know that only good awaits them in their future.

Clayton Christmas

It’s that time of year again. Find a tree, bring down the decorations, light it up – it’s Christmas time!! Now that it’s December, I’m okay with seeing Christmas things everywhere. I feel like it started so early this year. I will admit that we took our family photos for our Christmas card in November, but you almost have to in order to have your card done and sent out in time. So before Meredith moves up north, she came over for some Clayton bonding. We even gave the pups a bath right before she came over and gave them some bows. Even though our shoot wasn’t long, we had a lot of fun and now we want to share that joy with you!

Defy owner upgrades to new title – Mommy!

We got these pictures done just in time! At 39 weeks our mommy-to-be walked around the apartment complex and we found some fun spots for some great pictures. We were able to include some props like adorable baby shoes, an adorable dragon, and a personalized “Jellybean” onesie. The dad was able to break away from work for a few minutes to join us for some pictures. He is quite the character! This little one is going to have some fun parents.

Family photos with a German Shepherd friend

Family photos are one of our favorite things to photograph. We love meeting new families and watching them laugh and play together. This fun family included their German Shepherd in last years holiday portrait session. They picked a local college campus with lots of greenery for a soft background and we had a great time walking around a fountain taking photos and laughing with their little guy! The dog was so well behaved and add the perfect personal touch for this wonderful family.
