We’ve blogged a lot about babies lately so we thought we’d spice things up and bring you a simple classic headshot session. This young man was looking to have headshots taken for use on the internet as well as print. We used the natural backgrounds of mother nature and provided him with a variety of clothing choice. This precious baby girl was very bright eyed and with the help of Grandma we found a few smiles between those rosy round cheeks!
We got these pictures done just in time! At 39 weeks our mommy-to-be walked around the apartment complex and we found some fun spots for some great pictures. We were able to include some props like adorable baby shoes, an adorable dragon, and a personalized “Jellybean” onesie. The dad was able to break away from work for a few minutes to join us for some pictures. He is quite the character! This little one is going to have some fun parents.
We love babies! Maybe more so now because one of the owners of Defy is about to be a mommy… In any case, we jumped at the opportunity to photograph this sweet one in St. Louis. She was such a sweetheart and did a great job during our shoot. My favorite part was when she got fussy, her loving parents sang a hymn to help calm her down. It made for a sweet photo op. Congratulations to these new parents on their bundle of joy!
With the new school year starting, all the seniors are frantically looking through their pictures to find that special one to put in the yearbook. We enjoyed going to the Marietta Square (a popular place!) for some senior portraits. This 2014 graduate made the trip up to Marietta from Peachtree City so she could have unique pictures that stood out from her friends’. It was fun to see her different personalities come out with her outfit changes, and her mom was there making sure she looked picture perfect. She’s such a beautiful model, it was hard to select just a few pictures to post!
Family photos are one of our favorite things to photograph. We love meeting new families and watching them laugh and play together. This fun family included their German Shepherd in last years holiday portrait session. They picked a local college campus with lots of greenery for a soft background and we had a great time walking around a fountain taking photos and laughing with their little guy! The dog was so well behaved and add the perfect personal touch for this wonderful family.
Since we have a lot of friends and clients in the St. Louis area, we always have families who are willing to house us. Several years ago, to show our gratitude, we took some business headshots for a friend who houses us the most. She works in real estate and wanted some pictures for her business cards. Her husband now works with her so during our last trip up north, we were able to not only get some shots of him, but of the two of them together. They are such a fun couple and we were happy to find a way to pay them back for their selflessness.

It’s always nice to see when siblings get along, especially on picture day! These two enjoyed walking around the Marietta Square and selecting their own locations to shoot their portraits. Letting them choose their own spots really helped the kids come out of their shell and we were able to see their personalities shine through. They really enjoyed walking on the train tracks and playing in the leaves. We loved spending the afternoon with them and look forward to doing it again in the future!
When most people think of portraits they think of baby or children photos. Well, we were quite delighted when we were asked to take photos of this elderly lady! We were informed she wanted photos for Christmas cards and gifts and she had just bought new clothes for her birthday. We were sure to get all the outfit combos as well as captured her sweet personality. Since then, we’ve loved hearing how much her children enjoyed their Christmas photos from their dear mom!
This is a wonderful week! On Thursday, my husband and I will celebrate our 5th anniversary! It will also be the 10th anniversary since our first date. Wow, how the time flies. Meredith recently shot some portraits of us at the Marietta Square. She was also one of our photographers at our wedding. We really enjoy having our friend photograph us because she knows how to bring out our real smiles. The first photo you’ll see below is from our wedding day in 2008. The rest are from the square. We took some photos dressed up, and some in casual clothes. We even did a fun Kamehameha picture for Tommy.
